چکیده
IntroductionThere are limited available data on the prognostic implications of locoregional recurrence (LRR) after nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) and immediate reconstruction. In this study, we investigated patterns prognosis associated with LRR following treatment approach for breast cancer.MethodsA total 1696 patients primary cancer who underwent NSM reconstruction from March 2003 to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Post-recurrence disease-free survival (DFS) distant metastasis-free (DMFS) rates calculated using Kaplan-Meier method compared log-rank test. Univariate multivariate analyses Cox proportional hazards model performed evaluate factors DFS DMFS.ResultsAfter a median follow-up period 84 months, identified 172 (10.1%) an as first event. The 5-year post-recurrence nipple-areola complex (NCR), skin or subcutaneous recurrence/chest wall (SCR/CWR), regional (RR) groups 89.1%, 73%, 59.4%, respectively (P = 0.009), DMFS NCR, SCR/CWR, RR 96%, 82.8%, 59.7%, < 0.001). analysis, time ?2 years 0.016) site 0.022) significantly DFS.ConclusionsNCR is more likely be detected non-invasive favorable overall outcomes than other types. interval its onset seem outcomes.

Subcutaneous Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy and Immediate Breast Reconstruction.
BACKGROUND: Without a doubt, nipple-sparing mastectomy affords a better cosmetic result than modified radical mastectomy. However, the surgical safety, radicality, complications, indications, and psychological benefits associated with this method are controversially discussed. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We carried out a retrospective analysis of 35 patients (study group) who underwent nipple-sparin...
متن کاملSkin-Sparing Mastectomy with Immediate Breast and Nipple Reconstruction: A New Technique of Nipple Reconstruction
Background. Most women with breast cancer today can be managed with breast conservation; however, some women still require mastectomy for treatment of their disease. Skin-sparing mastectomy (SSM) with immediate reconstruction has emerged as a favorable option for many of these patients. The authors combined the SSM technique with the preservation of a small part of the areola with immediate nip...
متن کاملOne-Stage Nipple and Breast Reconstruction Following Areola-Sparing Mastectomy
BACKGROUND Skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction is increasingly becoming a proven surgical option for early-stage breast cancer patients. Areola-sparing mastectomy (ASM) has also recently become a popular procedure. The purpose of this article is to investigate the reconstructive and aesthetic issues experienced with one-stage nipple and breast reconstruction using ASM. ...
متن کاملNipple-Areola Complex Necrosis after Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy with Immediate Autologous Breast Reconstruction
BACKGROUND Autologous or implant-based breast reconstruction after nipple-sparing mastectomy is increasingly preferred worldwide as a breast cancer treatment option. However, postoperative nipple-areola complex (NAC) necrosis is the most significant complication of nipple-sparing mastectomy. The purpose of our study was to identify the risk factors for NAC necrosis, and to describe the use of o...

BACKGROUND Nipple-sparing mastectomy warrants thorough preoperative evaluation to effectively achieve risk reduction, high patient satisfaction, and improved aesthetic outcome. To the authors' knowledge, this review represents the largest series of microsurgical breast reconstructions following nipple-sparing mastectomies. METHODS All patients undergoing nipple-sparing mastectomy with microsu...
